Geomancers are awesome in the Ronka Ruins, however this monster absorbs their wind attack. I wouldn't recommend them for this fight.

Interestingly enough, geomancers absolutely rule the Lonka Ruins. Their terrain-based wind slash inflicts an MP-free 700-800 damage to everything but the whirl demons. Now, if that wasn't cool enough, their less common single-target attack can do well over 2000 damage to a Hydra. En garde!
